Meet our founder
Karen Goldstone-Hoffman
Principal Consultant · FCG
Karen spent more than twenty years in company secretarial and corporate governance, most recently as Group Company Secretary at a financial institution. In 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, she resigned to be with her two young children. The sabbatical lasted two weeks. GovGrowth was incorporated that September.
Governance expertise does not arrive with a business attached to it. She taught herself marketing, invoicing, Google Ads and cybersecurity, and worked through the imposter syndrome that comes with putting your own name above the door.
Today she is a Fellow and Vice-President of the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa, a voluntary business radio presenter and a panel moderator — and GovGrowth still measures itself by impact before profit.
Governance is not a barrier to growth. It is a catalyst.
